Queensland Representative School Sport (QRSS) works actively to support students' health and wellbeing in sport and aligns to the department’s broader
supporting student health and wellbeing policy statement.
Inclusion
Supporting LGBTIQ+ students in representative school sports pathways
Reflecting the department's commitment to embedding inclusion in all aspects of school life, every student is welcome in the QRSS program.
As part of a whole approach to supporting student health and wellbeing, QRSS is committed to providing a safe, supportive and inclusive environment for all students, including lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, intersex and queer (LGBTIQ+) students.
Supported by the student learning and wellbeing framework (PDF, 538KB), QRSS supports the individual needs of all students, regardless of sex and/or gender identity, to access, participate and excel in their chosen sport through organised competitive sporting programs. These programs are delivered at district, regional, state, national and international competitions and enable students to play and socialise in a safe and supportive environment, free from bullying, discrimination or harassment.
