Rebooting Queensland School Sport, Semester 2, 2020

All planning for the return of school sport activities in Semester 2 will include consideration of the Queensland Government Roadmap to easing Queensland's restrictions – A step-down approach to COVID-19 (the Roadmap), the AIS Framework for Rebooting Sport in a COVID-19 Environment (AIS Framework) and the Return to Play Guide for Queensland sport, recreation and fitness industries (Return to Play Guide).

Are you ready?

The Queensland Government Unite and Recover website contains updated information in relation to indoor and outdoor sport under Stage 3, which is focused on returning to more normal operation in accordance with Health Directions. Please refer to:

State event calendar

The 2020 Queensland School Sport state event calendar (PDF, 59KB) provides the schedule of representative school sport competitions for Queensland students that are selected to represent their school sport region.

Sport specific committees

The representative school sport program is led by 34 sport specific committees and 1 disability advisory committee of dedicated teachers who volunteer their time to ensure Queensland students have access to a representative program of the highest standard. Committees are guided by a suite of policies and procedures as set by the Department of Education and the Queensland School Sport Unit.

Privacy statement when requesting parent/spectator contact information

For sporting events where schools and regions are recording parent/spectator contact information, please ensure that the following privacy statement is included on the sign-on sheet.

Parents/spectators will be asked to view the statement on the sign-on sheet, there is no need for a document to be signed.

The Department of Education is collecting personal information of parents of State school and non-State school students, and any other persons in attendance, in accordance with the Information Privacy Principles prescribed under the Information Privacy Act 2009 (Qld), in order to record the details of parents and any other persons attending events controlled or operated by the Department, to enable the Department to comply with its obligations under the Public Health Act 2005 (Qld) and Disaster Management Act 2003 (Qld). This information will only be accessed by authorised staff within the department. Your personal information will not be given to any other person or agency without your permission or where we are required by law.

For events being hosted by an external venue, a record should be kept of which students and staff were in attendance however the venue will record the details of spectators, there is no requirement for the department to record these details.

Levies and apparel

Students, parents and carers are asked to pay their levies through the RSS online shop.

Student representatives, officials and supporters apparel can be purchased from Sportswear Queensland.
